Full Colour Services Cairns
Choose the full-colour pathway that matches your length, finish, and service boundary.
Also known as: full colour, all-over colour, root-to-tip colour, maintenance colour, full tint, full permanent colour.
You may know the colour result you want but not be sure which booking pathway fits — length, finish, and colour history all interact, and the wrong pathway usually shows up mid-service. Use this page to confirm the right one before you book. Because CXC is a senior-stylist salon, your colour is mixed for the hair in front of us each visit rather than pulled from a fixed pre-set.
Our Full Colour Process Model
Full colour that reads the same across visits — even when a different stylist finishes it — needs a structured sequence. Every full colour service at CXC includes:
a colour consultation
precision formulation from roots to ends
structured application technique
condition, tone and bond-support controls integrated into the service plan
a reserved processing and finishing sequence matched to the booking
a finishing service selected by length
maintenance guidance for the next booking
If your result needs foils, blonding, or colour correction, we will move you to the correct pathway before colour begins.
Why the colour is custom made each time
CXC custom-mixes colour so the result is specific to the hair in front of us, not a shelf shade. That allows us to:
match your current natural colour
maintain or refine a previous custom colour
move you into a new colour direction when the old formula is no longer the right fit
adjust depth, softness, grey coverage, or brightness to suit today's hair condition
We also keep colour history and formulation records on file so another senior stylist can continue the work with the same context if your appointment is handed over. If you already have a custom colour history, we can work from that direction and refine it rather than starting from zero.
Full Colour Service Pathways
Choosing the right pathway is usually a length and finish call, not a colour call — most clients arrive knowing the tone they want, then hesitate between the finishing options. Below is each pathway with the length threshold spelled out.
Hair Length categories:
Short = hair sitting above the chin.
Medium = hair resting above the shoulders.
Long = hair sitting above the shoulder blades.

If your haircut needs more than a styled finish, CXC will recommend the more suitable cut pathway and quote it in person before proceeding.
Colour delivers even tone from roots to ends, but colour-treated ends still meet daily weather. If your ends read as dry or rough despite clean formulation, that is a porosity signal, not a colour result.
Colour opens the cuticle to deposit tone. Ends that already carry porosity from prior services or heat exposure rehydrate unevenly in humidity — that is what reads as "dry feel" after a clean colour result.

Consultation-Driven Cut Upgrades
If you are unsure whether your appointment needs cutting work or just finishing, your stylist confirms at the chair and quotes the difference before we proceed. No assumed upgrades — the classification stays with you.
Finishing Options
Blow Wave Finish - by length
Styled Cut (default) - upgrade by shaping options
If you require more than a shape defining cut, we will be happy to upgrade your service to match your hair goals.
Simplified Booking & Pricing
The booking is structured so the classification work — length, finish, service scope, condition considerations — happens up front, not at the chair. That way the price you see is the price the appointment holds.
Packages are pre-built by hair length and finishing selection.
Each pathway reserves a five-service sequence so colour, processing, basin care and finish are handled as one controlled booking.
First-time full-colour clients have bond-support controls included in the booking configuration.
Transparent pricing is confirmed before service commencement when upgrades are needed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Do I need to know the exact service name before I book? A. No. CXC can classify the final service from your hair history, length, maintenance pattern, and result goal. Q. Do I need Full Colour or Regrowth Colour? A. Book Regrowth Colour if your main concern is new growth at the roots and your mid-lengths and ends still match your current colour. Book Full Colour when your overall colour needs refreshing through the lengths and ends, or when tone, coverage, or condition needs a full reset. Q. How is hair length classified? A. Short Hair means hair sitting above the chin. Medium Hair means hair resting above the shoulders. Long Hair means hair sitting above the shoulder blades. If your length sits between two categories, your stylist will confirm the correct booking during consultation. Q. When should I book foils instead of full colour? A. Book foils when the result needs brightness, placement, or dimensional lightening rather than even all-over coverage. Q. Can full colour include a styled cut? A. Yes. The styled-cut package is the right path when colour and shape need to be handled in one booking. Q. How often should I refresh my full colour? A. Most clients refresh full colour every 6–8 weeks, depending on growth, fade, and maintenance at home. Q. What if another stylist needs to continue my colour? A. We keep colour history and formula records on file so another senior stylist can pick up the work with the same context
